Tom was an 84 year old Air Force veteran who was a flight instructor for P-51 (Mustang) fighter planes during World War II. In his later years, Tom suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease and Lewy Body Disease. Despite the memory loss and other effects of those diseases, Tom remembered everything about the Air Force. Tom’s dream was to be able to fly again and see the world once more from the air. Jamie’s Dream Team was able to fulfill Tom’s dream of flying again. Tom was greeted at the airport by an honor guard from a local American Legion Post, and then took off on his flight over the southwestern Pennsylvania area. Tom’s wife, his 3 children and his 5 grandchildren were all on hand to see Tom’s thrill, excitement and enthusiasm at being able to fly again.
